From the very second that the sun shone through the windows of the large house, Emmett knew that he wanted it spend it with Rosalie. And just like every other day that he tried to devise a plan, it was destroyed. Jasper had invited him to go with the rest of the guys for a hunting trip, and even though he wasn't very thirsty, he had agreed. Again, plans that Emmett makes are easily broken. So as the group of four vampiric men walked from the house, Emmett could only turn around and wonder what Rosalie was going to do all day. Just the thought of leaving her, even for a few hours of hunting seemed harder than usual on the sunny day. Before he even got to the shrouded forests, he was already turning back to a much closer, comfortable range of the house. Emmett remembered Esme telling Carlisle about some kind of recipe, and how much Bella would love it. He had crinkled his nose at the thought of the human food. It had often perplexed him to see Bella eating during lunch or any other time. He wondered how she could even stand to have it in her mouth. He took the eavesdropping to mean that, as usual, Esme would request Rosalie's help in the kitchen. This wasn't a problem, and he intended to wait the food fest out or until Rose was able to escape Esme's oven mitted grasp.

Today was a good day for Emmett, plans were somehow working out. And at the sound of the beautiful creatures voice, he smiled brightly wondering how he would have even managed to get through a hunting trip. "How did you know love?" her voice almost sang. "Mmm, " he said a smirk approached his face. "It was my grizzly senses-- they tell me these things. " He chuckled lightly and slid onto the floor, leaning against her legs where she sat. "So did you get bored or something? Esme's still downstairs. I really can't see what her obsession with human food is, " his nose scrunched at the thought. "Kinda gross. " He traced invisible shapes onto the thigh of Rose's jeans as he spoke. It was days like this where he could just sit and be with her that were his favorite kind of days. Where nothing else mattered, only her and him. "Nope, I bailed out to come see you, " He kissed the back of her hand lightly as he took it in his own. "I didn't want to be too far away today. " He leaned his shoulders against her knees lightly, looking out the window for a moment wishing lightly that he wasn't so hopeless without his wife. His head snapped back as she called his jeep old. A goofy smirk settled on his face then quickly changed into a hurt expression. "Old? That hurts babe, my Jeep is still so young! " A laugh broke in as he tried to stay convincing. She was always making fun of his huge earth destroying vehicle. He would always retort something about how her car isn't even a kindergartner yet. Sure, he still liked her cute little red car but his Jeep was more like him. Big and loud! As she embraced his hand in hers he played with each of her small fingers. He was so large next to the frail beautiful girl- and even though he knew her strength, he would forever see her as slightly helpless. He was determined to never let anything happen to her, to protect her from anything that threatened her. "Yes, " he said kissing the back of her hand once more. "But only on one condition. Don't make fun of my young Jeep-- you'll hurt it's feelings. "
